Your Official Information Act request, reference: GOV-022286
Thank you for your email of 28 November 2022, asking for the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I request litigation reports generated between 2021-2022 for consideration of the board alongside
any outcomes of the litigation.
Litigation reports are legally privileged
These reports are prepared by Legal and are covered under the solicitor-client privilege. Therefore, we are
withholding these reports in full to maintain legal professional privilege. This decision has been made under
section 9(2)(h) of the Act.
ACC has carefully considered whether there are reasons why it is desirable, in the public interest, to make
this information available. ACC is of the view that the need to maintain legal professional privilege
outweighs the public interest in making the information available.
