Dear Dougie G
Official Information Act request relating to Staff turnover in DPMC's Ministerial
Services team
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 25 September
2023. You requested:
Under the OIA, can I please request the following:
1. Since 1 November 2022 to 25 September 2023, how many staff have resigned from
the Ministerial Services team at DPMC?
2. Since 1 November 2022 to 25 September 2023 how many staff have been recruited
to the Ministerial Services team at DPMC?
3. What is the total recruitment cost between 1 November 2022 to 25 September 2023
(including GST) for the Ministerial services team at DPMC?“”
Our records indicate there have been six resignations from the Ministerial Services Team
within the requested timeframe. This includes two fixed-term staff and four permanent staff,
including one who was seconded out of the team at the time of resigning. During the same
timeframe, DPMC has made six appointments to the Ministerial Services Team.
Total costs of recruitment have been $31,284.66. This relates to costs paid to recruitment
companies to assist in identifying appropriate candidates for Senior Advisor roles within the
team. This was necessary after advertising on the open market did not secure suitable
candidates for these roles.
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under
section 28(3) of the Act.
We do not intend to publish this response on the Department of the Prime Minister and
Cabinet’s website.
Yours sincerely
