[FYI request #24423 email]
Dear Mr Leigh
Thank you for your email of 12 October 2023 to Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities,
requesting the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I seek copies of any emails, reports, briefing notes, aides memoire or similar that
include the words "Chris Bishop" and "Hope so" between 1 September 2023 and
12 October 2023.
I have attached seven emails within scope of your request. I excluded emails containing
media reports, and administrative emails associated with your previous request of
15 September 2023.
The emails being released to you reference a Stuff article posted on 4 September 2023.
The emails contain Kāinga Ora people’s reactions to the article and information about
their private opinions and private lives. Because of this, I have withheld the names and
contact details under section 9(2)(a) of the Act to protect privacy. I consider the public
interest does not outweigh the reason for withholding the information.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
response. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or Freephone 0800 802 602.
Please note that Kāinga Ora proactively releases our responses to official information
requests where possible. Our response to your request may be published at
https://kaingaora.govt.nz/publications/official-information-requests/ with your personal
information removed.
Yours sincerely
