regulations relating to the prolonged tethering of dogs. Your request has been considered 
under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (OIA). 
 
You requested the following:  
 
Can you please provide the status of the Chained Dog regulations consulted on in 
early 2023. Has this been presented to the new Minister for consideration? 
 
The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) presented the proposed regulations on prolonged 
tethering of dogs to the previous Government. MPI will present the proposals to the new 
Minister soon. 
 
Should you have any concerns with this response, I would encourage you to raise these with
