Request for information 
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 23 February 2024, 
in which you requested: 
According to a book on the murders of Jeanette and Harvey Crewe that was 
published last year (The Crewe Murders, by Kirsty Johnson and James Hol ings, 
Massey University Press 2023): “Based on markings she ["she" being Sharon 
Fowler, senior forensic scientist at the National Ballistics Intelligence Service of 
the Greater Manchester Police] observed on the base of the fatal bul ets, and 
comparing them to markings on al  the bullets test-fired by the DSIR from the 
collected rifles, she found two rifles that could have fired the fatal bul ets: Arthur 
Thomas's, and a .22 Browning pump-action rifle belonging to Arthur Eglinton,  
a Pahiatua farmer, which had somehow been picked up in the police sweep.” 
65-odd rifles were checked by police - 64 from within a 5k radius of Pukekawa,
and one, belonging to Arthur Eglinton, from Pahiatua, 500k away.
I would like to see any documentation that was gathered in regard to Arthur 
Eglinton.
