Thank you for your email of 7 April 2024 to Wellington City Council (the Council) requesting
the following information:

I would like to request any information regarding the Golden Mile Upgrade /
Revitalisation since 1 January 2024.
Your request has been considered under the Local Government Of icial Information and
Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA).
The Golden Mile is the main retail and commercial strip from the Parliament end of Lambton
Quay, through Wil is and Manners Streets, ending at Courtenay Place. Work is underway
to revitalise this area.
The Golden Mile revitalisation project was part of the Let’s Get Wellington Moving
programme, which was a partnership between NZ transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Greater
Wellington Regional Council and Wellington City Council. The Let’s Get Wellington Moving
programme was dissolved in early 2024, and Wellington City Council has now taken the lead
on the Golden Mile project.
