Thank you for your Official Information request of 11 March 2024 requesting the fol owing
information from Te Tari Taiwhenua | the Department of Internal Affairs under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
1. Recommendation 14 of the Belinda Clark review, Independent Review of FENZ’s
Workplace Culture and Complaint Handling Practices (Nov 2022) is titled: "Conduct
complaints are investigated and determined by an independent body". The review
Report states: "DIA should provide advice to the Minister by 28 February 2023 on
options for how best to implement this recommendation."
2. Please provide all information around DIA's response to this Recommendation,
including all information post-28 Feb 2023.
The Official Information Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request. Unfortunately, it wil not
be possible to meet that time limit and we are therefore writing to notify you of an
extension of the time to make our decision, to 3 May 2024.
This extension is necessary because your request necessitates a search through a large
quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere
with our operations.
