Thank you for your request to the Department of Conservation, received on 5 May 2024, in 
which you asked: 
 
I noted, you have recently call for nomination for your Ngāti Tama Joint Advisory 
Committee https://gazette.govt.nz/notice/id/2024-go2072  
May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have 
call for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications 
you have received from the public and how many you have received from other 
nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your role. How 
many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed. 
 
We have considered your request under the Of icial Information Act 1982. 
 
In response to your questions, we advise that the Gazette notice you refer to is not for a 
position that is fil ed from public nominations.  The position is for a nominee of the Taranaki 
Whanganui Conservation Board under section 43(2)(c) of the Ngāti Tama Claims Settlement 
Act 2003.  Please also note that the notice was not calling for nominations, it was advising 
the appointment of the member.
