Dear Mr Smith

Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987
Re: Unilateral declarations of independence

I refer to your email, which we received on 19 November 2013, requesting information about
unilateral declarations of independence.

There have been no unilateral declarations of independence received by Auckland Council
since the advent of the supercity  or the re-election of Len Brown as mayor.  Therefore your
request is refused under section 17  (e) That the document alleged to contain the information
requested does not exist or cannot be found.

You have the right to seek review of Council’s refusal to disclose any information under this
letter by application to the Office of the Ombudsman.

If you have any further queries please contact me on (09) 3010101, quoting Official
Information Request No. 9000126606.

Yours sincerely
