Time Extension of your Official Information Act request, reference: GOV-013320
Thank you for your email of 9 August 2021 asking for the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):

1.   Names of Clinicians who have been Contracted by the ACC to attend External Medical Panel
meetings for the purpose of perusing Claimants files and providing a Subsequent report (Since its
establishment in December 2013)

2.   Scope of Practice the ACC believes they are qualified to consult and make Subsequent Opinions
3.  Scope of Practice the ACC believes they are qualified to consult and make Subsequent Diagnosis at
such a meeting
4.  Names of Panels Members used, by the ACC, to comment on Mild Traumatic Brain
Injury/Concussion related files
5.  Documentation provided to the ACC that would indicate those Panel members were appropriately
qualified to consult in Mild Traumatic Brain Injury/Concussion issues

ACC needs extra time
The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the
day we received your request. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our decision, to 27 September.

This extension is necessary because the consultations required to make a decision on your request are such
that a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.

Who to contact
Please contact me on [email address] if you would like to talk about this letter. I will be
happy to answer any questions or, if you have any concerns, work with you to resolve these.

If you are not happy with this extension, you have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman.
Information about how to do this is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or by phoning 0800 802
602.
