Follow-up response to your request for official information Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to Manatū Hauora
(the Ministry of Health) on 9 May 2023.
On 1 June 2023, you received a response to the request below:
Can you please tell me the result of the last three yearly review of cost recovery undertaken
by the Minister of Health as per the requirement in s94 of the PSA 2013.
Can you please also advise me regarding the Ministry of Health account(s) or other account
that the activities of the Psychoactive Substances Regulatory Authority, Psychoactive
Substances Expert Advisory Committee and support staff (working for them on related
tasks) are paid from e.g.. Funded by 3rd Party charges under the PSA, funded from the
Memorandum account, funded from MoH baseline funding, Funded from new Crown
funding, funded from Regulatory and Health Emergency Response etc etc
After receiving your response, you replied and noted that you had made an amendment to this
request after receiving your acknowledgment on 9 May 2023. You advised that your amended
request was the following (bold added for emphasis of amended part of the request):
Can I please have copies of the all of the results of the three yearly reviews of cost
recovery undertaken by the Minister of Health as per the requirement in s94 of the PSA
2013 since the commencement of the Act.
Can you please provide confirmation regarding the Ministry of Health account(s) or other
account that the activities of the Psychoactive Substances Regulatory
Authority, Psychoactive Substances Expert Advisory Committee and support staff (working
for them on related tasks) have been paid from since the commencement of the Act, broken
down by year, or years as required e.g.. Funded by 3rd Party charges under the PSA,
funded from the Memorandum account, funded from MoH baseline funding, Funded from
new Crown funding, funded from Regulatory and Health Emergency Response etc etc
We apologise for misquoting your request in your previous response letter. As we stated in our
email on 2 June 2023, there has never been a review of cost recovery since the commencement
of the Psychoactive Substances Act 2013, due to the low level of activity under the Psychoactive
Substances legislation.
