Dear Abhishek

Request made under the Official Information Act 1982

Thank you for your email of 4 April 2024 requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):

Can I please request any business case, concept paper, indicative, detailed business case
ever done by NZTA on Electric vehicle charging Infrastructure network in NZ?

I am sorry to inform you that NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) has not conducted any
business cases or concept papers on the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Network in New
Zealand (EVCINNZ). NZTA, in an attempt to provide reasonable assistance, has sought to source any
business cases relating to the EVCINNZ from Ministries and Agencies which it deemed more likely to
hold such information.

NZTA has consulted with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority, Ministry of Transport and
Ministry of Business Innovation and Enterprise who confirmed they do not hold such information.

As such, I am refusing your request under section 18(g)(i) of the Act because the information
requested is not held by the department or Minister of the Crown or organisation and the person
dealing with the request has no grounds for believing that the information is held by another
department or Minister of the Crown or organisation, or by a local authority.

Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to refuse
this request. The contact details for the Ombudsman can be located at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.

If you would like to discuss this reply with NZTA, please contact Ministerial Services, by email to
[NZTA request email]

Yours sincerely
