Dear Ministry of Health,
1. Of the November 2020/January 2021 PGY1 House Officer intake (who initially were employed under the 20 District Health Boards but have since been unified under the single employer of Te Whatu Ora), how many of these House Officers still remain presently employed within Te Whatu Ora in either a House Officer or Registrar capacity?
2. As of July 1 2022 until presently. How many House Officers and Registrars have resigned from Te Whatu Ora?

Thank you for your request for information received on 23 June 2023 asking
for the following under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
“1. Of the November 2020/January 2021 PGY1 House Officer intake (who
initially were employed under the 20 District Health Boards but have since
been unified under the single employer of Te Whatu Ora), how many of these
House Officers still remain presently employed within Te Whatu Ora in
either a House Officer or Registrar capacity?
2. As of July 1 2022 until presently. How many House Officers and
Registrars have resigned from Te Whatu Ora?”
The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our
decision, to 21 August 2023.
This extension is required because the consultations necessary to make a
decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably
be made within the original time limit.

Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). Te Whatu Ora needs more time to
make a decision on your request.
In accordance with section 15(1) and 15A of the Act, Te Whatu Ora’s
decision will be with you no later than 18 September 2023. Multiple teams
have needed to be involved and as advised the additional time is
required because the consultations that are necessary to make a decision
on your request are such that proper response cannot reasonably be made
within the original time limits.
