Government Procurement Rules - review - please share your thinking

Charles Finley made this Official Information request to Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Charles Finley to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Charles Finley

Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,

I have recently heard that you are running a review in to the Government Procurement Rules and have asked for input.

Please can you publish the current assessments undertaken by MBIE in to the efficacy of the rules, any development / thinking / drafts concepts and ideas that have been produced or drafted internally, and any communications between government officials as to how the rules might be developed.

I am happy to recieve draft documents as understand there may not be official documents. I am looking to understand the thinking from within procurement about how the rules might be able to change to have better or improved results, or where you think they are performing well.

Yours faithfully,

Charles Finley

Dear MBIE,

Thank you for your reply. I have been reading through the response with interest. Are you able to provide the following as a follow up:

- I see you redacted that same part on each page of the presentation - are you able to share what that section covers, and why it was redacted? I appreciate you cant share the content but curious what was in each part.
- Can you provide a progress update, given the timeframe which was presented.
- Please can you provide any briefings, interactions, meeting notes held between MBIE and your Minister or the Minister of Finance on this subject - specifically relating to how this piece of work might help the government achieve its savings targets, or for that matter - any other correspondence of a similar savings nature with Ministers (If easier - happy for this question to be handled as a new OIA.)

Yours sincerely,

Charles Finley
