Willie Juson made this Official Information request to Bay of Plenty Regional Council

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Willie Juson to read a recent response and update the status.

From: Willie Juson

Dear Bay of Plenty Regional Council,

I'm a resident of Shearer Road, Te Puke and I'm affected by the roadworks currently happening to widen and lengthen Shearer Road. As such I wish to request any information I can pertaining to this please. I believe the consent is RM22-0576.

I have looked at Jenni Johnson's request for information via the FYI.org.nz site , in particular the document you provided - RM22 0576 s95 and s42A Combined Report. This contains at least one incorrect statement. As such I would especially like to view the application made by Maven if that is available please, along with any other related information.

Yours faithfully,

Willie Juson

Dear Nick Barnes,

sorry for the delay in coming back to.

Firstly, thank you for the phone call, it was quite informative.

I believe we discussed the fact that the link I was given, in response to my original request, which showed the original consent application from Maven did not show all of the information I was expecting to see, it was perhaps an initial draft? You said there was more information available, that you could see but I could not, and you would send me a link to the extended consent information. Just following up on that please as I haven't received anything further since our call.

I'm still trying to find the source (in the consent application) for the statement in the final report regarding the consultation that supposedly happened between Maven/Takarangi Farms and myself/my neighbours' at 35 Shearer Road.

Yours sincerely,

Willie Juson

Hi Willie,

I perhaps didn’t communicate very well on the phone but when we were talking I realised you were looking at the application form, as opposed to the application. The application and the application form are everything that Maven initially sent through to us (as well as the appendices which are also included in that first link I sent you). It is common for the application form not to be completely filled out because all of the information is held in the application itself. Therefore there are no more links for me send through to you in terms of the original documentation.

That said, you are right, about the source stating that consultation had taken place between residents of Shearer Road and Maven. Unfortunately, the consultant planner who processed this application on behalf of BOPRC is currently on extended leave so I cannot follow up with where they got this information from. However, I have spoken with Maven and they have sent me the attached correspondence. You'll see that these dates don't quite match up with the meeting dates in the report, which may well be an error in the report from our planner. As I discussed on the phone, the consent for earthworks and temporary stormwater discharge would not require consultation with neighbouring properties therefore this would not have impacted our decision. We are however currently looking into whether a permanent stormwater consent is required in order for the works to be completed.

Hopefully that makes sense but if you'd like to discuss further on the phone I'd be happy to talk through it.
