Please provide the following information relating to admission into the MBChB program at the University of Otago via the NZ Rural Origins sub-category of the MBChB program for the last two cohorts (2023-2024)
(1) The number of New Zealand Rural Origins sub-category places offered to HSFY applicants
(2) The minimum and average grades to receive a offer through the rural HSFY entry

I refer to your additional request for information dated 13 May 2024 made under the Official Information Act 1982. You have requested the number of applicants to the 2023 and 2024 MB ChB programmes via the Health Sciences First Year (HSFY) Rural equity group.
There were 30 applicants to the 2023 MB ChB programme via the HSFY Rural equity group.
There were 39 applicants to the 2024 MB ChB programme via the HSFY Rural equity group.
Please note that the above figures exclude applicants who may have applied, but were not eligible under the HSFY Rural equity group.
