Dear Mr Riley

I refer to your email of 11 May.  It is a broad request given the Iwi
might make, for example, a submission on multiple resource consent
applications.

I wonder whether you could narrow the request to any particular aspect to
enable us to locate any relevant material.

I should also indicate that if there are any communications, and I don’t
have any details at this stage, some may call for contact with the Iwi in
order to obtain comments about whether or not release is appropriate.  The
decision is one for this Council to make but we would take into account
any views expressed.  There maybe some confidentiality expectation.  If
that is necessary, the first question Iwi would ask is who the requestor
is, and I ask whether you have an issue with release of your name if this
was requested.

Dear Tony Quirk-8077,

Perhaps if you could supply correspondence to or from Ngai Tahu/Te Runanga o Kaikoura that is either to or from the Council MAYOR or Chief Executive would be appreciate. From 1 January 2023... thank you.

Dear Mr Riley

I thank you for the adjusted request of 16 May.

We have done an IT search and I have also checked with the PAs for both
the Mayor and the Chief Executive.

We have found no correspondence to or from Ngāi Tahu/Te Runanga o Kaikoura
either to or from the Mayor or Chief Executive effective from 1 January
2023.

This completes the request.

Regards

Tony Quirk

District Secretary
