Documents around photography at TPPA protests.

Andrew Crow made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

The request was refused by New Zealand Police.

From: Andrew Crow

Dear New Zealand Police,

It has been reported that some police staff where photographing protesters at the TPPA in Auckland today.

I believe that the public have a right to know why this happened and what the photos are needed for.

Under the OIA I request any documents that give orders to police staff that they should photograph protesters.

I also request any documents that explain what the photos are to be use for.

I also ask for any documents that relate to sharing the photos with other government agencies such as GCSB or SIS.

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Crow

Surely the Police should be required to prove a URL if they decline a OIA request on the grounds a document is publicly available.

Very unhelpful to not even identify the request.

Here is the manual: https://www.fyi.org.nz/request/police_ma...

At least, that's how it was in 2012.
